Me\u0219te\u0219ugul supravie\u021buie\u0219te ast\u0103zi prin intermediul c\u00e2torva \u021bes\u0103toare care lucreaz\u0103 astfel de chilimuri la comand\u0103.<\/p>\n

L\u00e2na folosit\u0103 pentru acest chilim a fost vopsit\u0103 \u00een gospod\u0103rie numai \u00een culori ob\u021binute din plante, culori naturale (numite \u0219i natur sau culorile p\u0103m\u00e2ntului).<\/p>\n

Motivul Pomul Vie\u021bii – care poate simboliza at\u00e2t Pomul Vie\u021bii din Rai, dar \u0219i casa, mediul familiar, care \u00eei protejeaz\u0103 \u0219i \u00eei hr\u0103ne\u0219te pe cei din familia respectiv\u0103 – este un model clasic folosit \u00een covoarele persane, turce\u0219ti \u0219i \u00een chilimurile din Persia, Imperiul Otoman, Balcani, de unde a fost preluat \u0219i adaptat \u0219i \u00een covoarele oltene\u0219ti, P\u0103s\u0103rile – \u00eentr-un num\u0103r de opt pe acest covor – pot reprezenta membrii familiei sau sufletele celor care au plecat dintre noi.<\/p>\n

Covorul din imagine ne prezint\u0103 o interpretare contemporan\u0103 a acestui pom al vie\u021bii, reprezentat aici printr-o creang\u0103 de stejar pe care s-au a\u0219ezat \u00een ordine cele opt p\u0103s\u0103ri.<\/p>\n

This rug is brand new, it was woven in the winter of 2024, in Tismana, Gorj county. Tismana is one of the places where Oltenia type carpets were woven and are being woven. The weavers in the area learned the craft either from other women from Tismana or from Gorj county, or in the workshops of the Tismana Monastery or at the Arta Casnic\u0103<\/em> Craft Cooperative. The craft survives today through a few weavers who make such custom kilims. The wool used for this kilim is made in Romania and it was dyed in the household in colors obtained only from plants (also called earth tones).<\/p>\n

The Tree of Life symbol – which can symbolize both the Tree of Life from the Garden of Eden, but also the home, the familiar environment that protects and nurtures those the family – is a classic pattern used in Persian, Turkish knotted carpets and kilims from Persia, the Ottoman Empire, the Balkans, from where it was taken over and adapted in the Oltenia type carpets. The birds – here in number of eight on this carpet (usually there are not that many on such a small carpet) – can represent family members or the souls of those who have left us.<\/p>\n

The carpet in the picture presents us with a contemporary interpretation of this tree of life, represented here by an oak branch on which the eight birds have sat in order.<\/p>\n
